Causes and solutions for brittle and fragile plastic woven bags

As a common packaging material, plastic woven bags are widely used in daily life. However, many people have encountered the problem of brittle and brittle plastic woven bags. The main causes of the problem will be introduced below, and some solutions will be provided to help us effectively extend the life of plastic woven bags.
A plastic woven bag is a type of bag made of plastic fibers such as polypropylene (PP). Although they have high abrasion resistance and tensile strength, sometimes we find that they become brittle and break easily. This happens with a variety of factors, and here are some of the main reasons.
1. Lighting
When a plastic woven bag is exposed to sunlight, the polymer in it will gradually break down, causing the bag to become brittle. UV rays that are directly exposed to the surface of the bag from the sun can cause the polymer chains to break, causing the plastic to lose its original strength and flexibility.
Solution: Avoid exposing the plastic woven bag to direct sunlight for a long time, and try to store or use it in a cool, shady place.
2. Oxidation
Oxygen is also one of the causes of aging and brittleness of plastic woven bags. Oxygen molecules can break down polymer chains, so the molecular structure of the bag gradually changes, making it fragile.
Solution: Store plastic woven bags in a closed, airtight environment to reduce the bag’s contact with air and help slow down the rate at which the bag oxidizes.
3. Low temperatures
Low temperatures can make plastic woven bags brittle and brittle. At low temperatures, the molecular movement of the plastic slows down, reducing the flexibility of the bag, leading to an increased risk of cracking and breakage.
Solution: Avoid leaving the plastic woven bag in an extremely cold environment and try to use it at room temperature. For low-temperature environments that need to be used, choose plastic woven bags with better flexibility and performance.
4. Chemical solvents
Woven plastic bags are often exposed to chemical solvents, such as alcohol, acidic cleaners, etc., which can erode the structure of the plastic, reduce its mechanical strength, and increase the risk of embrittlement and breakage.
Solution: Avoid exposing plastic woven bags to chemical solvents and try to choose the right bag for storing potentially harmful substances.
In order to prolong the service life of plastic woven bags, we should fully understand the reasons that cause them to become brittle and brittle, and take corresponding solutions. Proper use and storage, avoiding exposure to direct sunlight, reducing contact with air, avoiding contact with low temperature environments and chemical solvents are all important steps to protect plastic woven bags.
In addition, there are some additional measures that can be taken to extend the life of plastic woven bags:
1. Proper use and carrying: Avoid putting excessively heavy or sharp objects into the plastic woven bag, so as not to increase the burden on the bag or cause the bag body to be scratched. At the same time, do not drag the plastic woven bag on the ground to reduce the wear and tear of the bag by external objects.
2. Regular cleaning and maintenance: Clean the plastic woven bag regularly, you can use mild soapy water or laundry detergent to clean the surface of the bag, and rinse it thoroughly. Keeping the bag clean can reduce the erosion of plastic by dirt and chemicals that adhere to the surface.
3. Choose high-quality plastic woven bags: When buying plastic woven bags, choose brands and materials with reliable quality and good durability. High-quality bags are more resistant to aging and embrittlement, and can maintain good quality for a longer time.
4. Consider biodegradable alternatives: To reduce the impact on the environment, consider using biodegradable plastic woven bags instead of traditional plastic bags. Biodegradable bags can break down faster, reducing plastic pollution issues.
By taking the above measures, you can effectively extend the service life of plastic woven bags and reduce the problem of embrittlement and brittleness. At the same time, we should also promote the development of more environmentally friendly and sustainable packaging solutions, reduce the need for plastic woven bags, and contribute to the global environment.
